I forgot to bring my skates to our closed door bout this past Sunday.
You know, the first ever WFTDA sanctioned bout in my league’s history against the New Skids on the Block.

OMFG
I’m bouting in less than one week. I’m not considered a rookie anymore. I’m playing in my first ever WFTDA sanctioned bout. I am going to get my ass handed to me, and I am going to love ever second of it. Such a glutton for punishment!

Things learned from CSI Miami's "Roller Derby...
1. It is called “THE DERBY” when referring to roller derby.
2. All roller derby is played on a banked track.
3. All rollergirls are out to get one another.
4. Your elbow is a weapon, use it at your disposal.
5. Derby girls date badass guys on motorcycles that beat you.
6. Metal elbow pads give you a distinct advantage at try-outs.
7. CSI sucks.

RDWC (Roller Derby Workout Challenge) Day 4
I am seriously missing some of my daily favorite things on this new diet! 1. 2011 season has officially begun. Oh good bye normal everyday life, hello ass-kicking much needed exercise.

I have now gone 3 days without nicotine. By the end of today, I will no longer have ANY form of nicotine in my body, and the worst physical part of quitting, the withdrawals, will be over.
I quit for a whole bunch of reasons, my health, money, my boyfriend, my derby career, etc. Have any of you successfully quit smoking? How did you cope, both emotionally and physically? What did you find...

I’m actually doing much better than I thought I would…but its getting progressively harder as the day goes on.

Massacre Boot Camp
I think I did more skating yesterday, in 7 hours than I will ever do in a row ever again, and I somehow managed to survive.
Yesterday morning I attended a Boot Camp put on by the wonderful ladies of the Boston Massacre. Oh yeah, it the morning immediately after I had a bout in which I jammed the whole time (and yes, we won!), good timing Slick.
Anyways, they started us off by teaching us proper...
i somehow managed a 19 point jam last night.

Extremely Excited....and beyond busy!
I’ve been caught up in a derby whirl-wind lately!
Since joining NHRD, I’ve been teamed to the All-Stars, Skate Free or Die!, and more recently, onto the Granite Skate Troopers home team! So now I’m ALWAYS practicing 3 nights a week! Yowza!
I volunteered for the first time at the Boston Derby Dames bout last weekend, and I’m happy to report that the Massacre rocked house...

Boston Massacre v. Denver … a wicked strange game, that’s for sure.
At about 30 seconds in, you’ll see the single dirtiest thing I’ve ever witnessed in a game … worse than when the Rocky Mountain skater punched that girl in the head at national (in my opinion, anyway).
For those that are wondering, no you CAN’T hit a skater when she’s on the ground, and you ESPECIALLY can’t hit her...

Today NHRD found out that we officially graduated from the WFTDA apprentice program!
That means that as a member of SFOD, I am on a WFTDA team, I get one of those cool patches for my jersey!
Congrats to my entire league!!!
